Digital Mobility Lounge 4.0

Seamless Mobility – accessible to everyone, everywhere?

20.06.2023 | Artigo

Getting from A to B quickly and cheaply used to be simple: the choice often was to just hop in the car and drive there. Today things are more complicated: In urban areas congestion and limited parking space make private cars a bad choice and the cost of owning a car has increased. Trains and tubes are faster, and sustainability has also become a criterion that makes shared services even more attractive. But with today’s service quality, public and shared transport face many problems: lack of operational integration, delays, no cost transparency, and often complicated offers. The future of integrated mobility should be the promise of a seamless transportation experience for people and goods using infrastructure and assets efficiently.

What is the key to such integrated mobility? That was the overall topic of the year’s Digital Mobility Lounge. The expert panel of mobility leaders was accompanied by Federico Magno, Executive Director Mobility at Porsche Consulting, together with keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Philipp Rode, Executive Director LSE Cities at London School of Economics & Political Science. Dr. Meike Niedbal, Former State Secretary Mobility at the Berliner Senatsverwaltung, Björn Bender, CEO of Rail Europe, and Dr. Stefan Seer, Lead Integrated Digital Urban Planning at the Austrian Institute of Technology, discussed current mobility topics and took a stance on what the biggest obstacles are to making the vision of fully integrated mobility a reality.
