The solid-state battery promises to drive forward the transition to sustainable energy sources and the electrification of the mobility sector. This storage technology with a solid core is said to be more durable, safer and more powerful than conventional batteries. However, its industrialization is still pending - with significant technical and strategic hurdles.

Germany's international media organization Deutsche Welle is now reporting on progress in the field of solid-state batteries. Xiaohan Wu, battery expert at Porsche Consulting, makes it clear that the race for the first production-ready solid-state battery is still wide open. "We see start-ups in the USA and Europe as well as established players in Asia working on the technology," says Wu in the TV interview.

The start-up High Performance Battery from Germany is one of the companies active in this market. Managing Director Sebastian Heinz provides insights into the technology used by the company in the report.
